To enable and be able to see the thumbnail and preview of pictures and folders we have to click "Preview" button in the toolbar. As simple as that.
To enable the preview for text files as well follow the following simple steps.
1. Click "Control" on the toolbar.
2. Select "Configure Dolphin".
3. Go to "General" section and click on "Preview" tab.
4. Scroll to the end and check "Text Files" and click OK. All done.
