How to enable preview and thumbnail in Linux Mint

Default file manager of Linux Mint KDE is Dolphin. Dolphin file manager has  very advanced preview and thumbnail features such as preview text files but by default previews option is disabled in Dolphin file manager To enable and be able to see the thumbnail and preview of pictures and folders we have to click "Preview" button in the toolbar. As simple as that. To enable the preview for text files as well follow the following simple steps. 1. Click "Control" on the toolbar. 2. Select "Configure Dolphin". 3. Go to "General" section and click on "Preview" tab. 4. Scroll to the end and check "Text Files" and click OK. All done.

How to rename/label partition in Linux Mint KDE

Unlike Windows operating system you cant just right click on the drive or partition and select the rename option in the menu to rename the drive or partition. Linux Mint KDE has Dolphin file manager and it lack this feature so you have to do this via KDE Partition Manager which is present by default in the Mint Linux KDE. All you need is to follow the following steps. 1. Click on the Menu button in the panel search for "KDE Partition Manager" and open it. 2. From the "Device" section in this utility i.e KDE Partition Manager, Select the desired drive. 3. Double click the partition that you wish to rename/lable and in the "Label" section type the desired label and click OK. 4. We are not done yet. Now click "Apply". 5. Its all done now.

How to update Firefox in Linux

To update Mozilla Firefox in any Linux distro its best to update it via terminal. It does all the work for you and you dont have to download the files by yourself and then extract them and install them into your operating system. To update firefox to the latest version. Simply open the "Terminal" and type in the following commands respectively. sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install firefox It will update the Mozilla Firefox to latest version. After the process is complete simply restart the  firefox. I already have the latest version of Mozilla Firefox therefore 0 updgraded.
